Countdown 365: #362 Blue Herons

(Editor’s Note: As I approach age 60, I am “Counting My Many Blessings” by doing a daily countdown from 365. These are in no particular order, but, as you will see in days following, there is a method to the madness.)

BlueHeron8I am fond of Blue Herons.  They have an independent streak and, despite being loners, are graceful and beautiful. Quite often I go to the Jacobson Lake near our house to scout out my friend “Herry” so that I can gather up some “joy points.” To me, Joy points are when you intentionally are feeling joy in your brain and body by consciously feeling joy. The joy point list is endless and it is fun coming up with new joy points in your daily life.  If you practice feeling joy points each day it will change the brain to focus more on the positive things instead of the negative things in your life.  And so, I venture out for joy points by seeking out the elusive blue heron.

Following are a few of my favorite photos.  I am grateful to have these beautiful birds in my life and so close by.  Brief and easy…enjoy (all of these are my photos)
